Luci & Brent Welcome Their Baby Girl!

I am so pleased to announce that Luci and Brent welcomed their little baby girl into the world this morning!

Born at 6.47am, weighing in at 2.6kg and 48cm in length, they say 'a father and mother now understand the meaning of the word perfect'.

All my best wishes to both of them! I am very excited that I could give them precious memories of their maternity, and that they included me when they announced their baby girl's birth - thank you so much!!

I hope that (should they choose to) I will be able to upload pictures of their little one in the very near future!!

Coreen & Grant - A Real Engagement Shoot!

Well, Saturday was such a fabulous day for me! Grant asked me to be part of his proposal to Coreen, which I was so happy to do!

What a wonderful couple! Right from the first photo, their energy and love was written all over their faces! I am so happy to be part of such a special moment in two people's lives!

Grant - well done for planning such a unique proposal... and Coreen, you are just such a wonderful person, I know that you are made for each other!

I must say, my job was made easy by Grant and Coreen being so relaxed and happy to be there with me at the Diary!

Thank you for letting me take part - I hope that I have been able to capture images you will treasure for ever!

Caden Paul - 3 Months 4 Days

3 months 4 days... or 9 days (from his due date)...

What a special day! When Caden came out of ICU almost a month ago, Elriza booked me for this shoot. We had to wait for him to come off the oxygen machine though, which he did right on time and without a problem! Well done little Caden!

For those of you that don't know, Caden is a little warrior that decided to come into this world almost 3 months early. He has grown, and fought, and become a real inspiration to his family and friends - just by being himself!

Elriza and Wesley have also been such an inspiration to all that know them - they have shown us what it is to Show Up and do what needs to be done regardless of how tough the journey seems to be.

So... when I woke up on Saturday I was so excited to be doing this photo shoot! And it just went so well!

Caden, Elriza and Wesley, I hope that I have been able to give you images that you can cherish for ever, that truly represent your love and dedication to each other!

Baby Stow - 26 weeks & 997 grams

Well!
After not seeing the doctor for over 6 weeks (a life-time really...) we had our check up yesterday and yay! We got to see our little boy (Levi... Malakai...Tyler... not too sure...) again!
Our doctor just happens to be the coolest guy in our lives at the moment, whipping out a 4D picture in mid-scan... I can't describe the amazement of seeing this flat black-grey picture turn into a multi-dimensional image of our baby's face... especially when I wasn't expecting his 'airplane cockpit' type scanning machine to do that! But I should have known better!! Of course with technology anything is possible these days! Nevertheless... when you are not expecting something, and it just happens... well let's just say it was like hearing angels sing (quite eerie... but most amazing...)!
So! Here is our baby boy... and we are convinced that his chubby cheeks are just like his dad's and his little pug nose is just like his mom's... when, most likely, this is what most babies look like when they're born! But we don't care! We think he is beautiful and those cheeks and that nose must have come from SOMEWHERE!
This little child is so active even the doctor got abit frustrated trying to measure the blood-flow to and from the baby - he wouldn't keep still! Darryl and I pondered what we might be unleashing on the world... But I am sure that as active as this little child is (punching, round-house kicking, comando rolling... all in the confines of my tummy...) he will also be the light of our lives... and he already is!
Hello Baba! We can't wait to meet you!

Luci & Brent - Maternity Shoot

I spent Mother's Day morning photographing a wonderful couple - Luci & Brent - in anticipation of their little girl's arrival!

What a wonderful couple! They are both so easy, relaxed and quick to laugh. Due in approximately 3 weeks, their little girl is in store for loads of love and laughter!
We messed around with the puppy (also part of the family!), and then took things outside to capture the kind of Lifestyle pictures that truly represent Luci & Brent's relaxed outlook on life. Also, the rocking chair that was used by Brent's mother when he was a newborn was an important (and beautiful) part of some of the pictures!

After delaying the shoot by one week (because of the previous Sunday's horrible rain...), I am happy that the weather, location & couple really worked so well together!

It's great to photograph two people that are just so easy and natural to work with - what a pleasure!

I, on the other hand, am in my 26th week... expecting a little boy (Levi... we think... for now...)! I am feeling relatively comfortable still... But really... how much more am I going to expand??? Some 'experts' (made up of relatives, people at work, strangers in shopping centers, my husband etc) say I am small for 25 weeks, others say I am huge... well! What can I say? What good is advice if it makes sense?

All I know is that I have rounded a bend this week (excuse the pun...) where I am just completely awestruck by the beauty of this life inside of me... I just can't believe that my husband and I had a part in creating life... After two miscarriages and 2 years of trying, this little one just held on tight! This week, I have really begun to understand the immensity of this thing called 'motherhood'...

So Levi (for now...), what can I say? Don't always believe everyone else's opinion - they sometimes get things wrong. Do what you know is right, and if you wonder what that is, remember that if it feels bad it's bad, if it feels good it's good. But don't take my word for it - ha ha! Just do your best my baby.
Thanks again Luci & Brent - I wish you all the smooth sailing you can handle until your little one arrives!
